Analysis and optimisation of logistics-related costs of small e-commerce entrepreneurs as profitability turning point

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá analýzou a optimalizací logistiky firmy podnikající v e-commerce segmentu. V teoretické části je popsána struktura e-commerce projektu a jsou kvantifikované současné ztráty vzniklé nepřevzetím vyexpedovaných zásilek z reálných dat referenčního tuzemského projektu. V praktické části je navrženo měřitelné řešení situace s popisem implementace. V práci je popsána tvorba aplikace a jsou vysvětlené použité technologie. Výstupem práce je funkční webová aplikace, která umožňuje sledovat a reagovat na odeslané zásilky v reálném čase. Po nasazení aplikace do testovacího provozu a porovnání výstupních dat je zjištěno, že firma snížila počet nedoručených zásilek a tím ušetřila náklady.

Abstract:

This thesis describes the analysis and optimization process of logistics of an e-commerce company. The theoretical part describes the basic structure of an e-commerce project and quantifies current losses caused by undelivered parcels of a referential domestic project. A measurable solution and its implementation is proposed in the practical part. It delineates the entire development process and introduces used technologies. The outcome of this thesis is a fully operational web application, that enables the company to track and engage on dispatched parcels in real time. After comparison of the output data from testing phase it is clear, that the company had managed to reduce the number of undelivered parcels and hence had decreased expenses.
