The maritime container transportation with a focus on export of beer from the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Stěžejním cílem této bakalářské práce je celková analýza exportu piva z České republiky v rámci námořní přepravy a komparace statistických hodnot vyvezeného objemu českého piva. Práce usiluje o nalezení trendu exportu piva z České republiky, porovnání statistik vývozu piva prostřednictvím námořní přepravy s vývozem v rámci všech druhů dopravy a stanovení nejčastějších vývozních destinací, kam směřuje export piva po moři. Vzhledem k tomu, že je pro komplexní pochopení celého průběhu námořní operace nezbytné znát určitá teoretická východiska, jsou v úvodní kapitole s názvem "Námořní kontejnerová přeprava piva" uvedeny základní termíny, dokumenty a operace, které jsou nezbytné pro objasnění celého procesu. Druhá kapitola zkoumá určité specifické požadavky, které jsou vyžadovány při přepravě komodity piva. Mimo jiné je v souvislosti s touto tématikou vyslovena hypotéza o tom, že se nejméně piva vyváží v zimních obdobích kvůli citlivosti na příliš nízké teploty. Výpočty ze statistických dat se poté bude tato hypotéza dokazovat. Ve třetí kapitole je provedena komparace vývoje exportu piva po moři s hodnotami vývozu této komodity všemi druhy dopravy za sledované období. Na tuto část navazuje rozbor exportu piva v rámci čtyř významných pivovarů exportujících z České republiky, Plzeňský Prazdroj a. s., Budějovický Budvar n. p., Heineken Česká republika a.s a Pivovary Lobkowicz a.s. Práce vychází z knižních i z internetových zdrojů. Velmi cenným zdrojem pro tuto analýzu jsou interní zdroje poskytnuté jednou zasílatelskou společností a dvěma českými pivovary.

Abstract:

The primary purpose of this bachelor thesis is to analyse the whole process of beer transportation from the Czech Republic by maritime transport and to compare statistical data of exported volume of Czech beer. This study is also focused on determining trend of beer export from the Czech Republic, comparison statistics of beer export by maritime transport with beer export by all means of transport and to specify the most frequent export overseas destinations. Whereas it is necessary to know the theoretical basis for complex understanding of the whole process of maritime transportation, there is explained basic terminology, documents and processes, in the first chapter called "The maritime container transportation of beer". This knowledge is necessary for clarification of the whole issue. The second chapter is concerned with the research of the certain specific requirements that are essential for beer transportation in containers. Beside this, there is also said a hypothesis of the fact that the lowest volume of Czech beer is exported in winter season due to the fact that this commodity is sensitive to very low temperatures during the transportation. Consequently, this hypothesis will be proof by calculations with statistical data. It follows the comparison of the beer export development in the field of maritime transport with the field of all means of transport during the reporting period, in the third chapter. In the end there is an analysis of the export trends of four Czech breweries which export from the Czech Republic: Pilsner Urquell, Budweiser Budvar, Heineken CZ and Breweries Lobkowicz. Using data from technical books, official web sites of the carriers and the Czech breweries and internal data from one forwarder company and two Czech breweries, this study was designed to investigate the whole process of beer transportation by sea shipping.
