Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá využitím synchronních online simulačních her k rozvoji mluvních dovedností studentů e-learningových kurzů angličtiny jako cizího jazyka. Cílem této práce bylo vytvořit 2 komplexní synchronní aktivity a následně je vyzkoušet v již existujícím e-learningovém kurzu Masarykovy univerzity (Angličtina online – ONLINE_A). Tyto 2 pilotované scénáře byly podrobeny vnitřní i vnější evaluaci, aby bylo zjištěno, zda je zde navrhovaný koncept simulačních her použitelný pro zamýšlený účel. Dále bylo třeba identifikovat možnosti a omezení tohoto typu aktivit. Na základě provedeného testování her bylo navrženo směřování dalšího vývoj zmíněných her a výzkum v této oblasti. Koncept tohoto typu aktivit je založen na myšlenkách synchronního e-learningu, hraní rolí, simulaci, didaktické hře, zkušenostním učení a paradigmatech konstruktivismu a sociálního konstruktivismu, to vše aplikováno v kontextu učení se cizímu jazyku. Poznatky z výše zmíněných oborů jsou analyzovány v teoretické části a následně jsou některé z jejich prvků použity při samotném návrhu a vývoji her v praktické části. Hry jsou vytvářeny dle metodiky modelu ADDIE, který je určen k návrhu vzdělávacích systémů.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the use of synchronous online simulation games for development of speaking skills in e-learning courses of English as foreign language. The aim of this thesis was to create 2 complex synchronous activities and incorporate them into an existing e-learning course at Masaryk University (English Online – ONLINE_A) in order to test them there. Furthermore, the piloted scenarios were subjected to both external and internal evaluation to assess the viability of the concept of synchronous online simulation games for the designed purpose and identify its possibilities and limitations. Moreover, based on the implementation of the scenarios, suggestions for future development and research were made. The concept of the activities is based on the ideas of synchronous e-learning, role-playing, simulation, game-based learning, experiential education and paradigms of constructivism and social constructivism applied to the field of foreign language learning. These areas are analysed in the theoretical part of this thesis and some of their features are used in the practical part to design and develop the activities in accordance with the ADDIE model for instructional design.
