Immoral talented craftsmen: František Horáček alias Jim Čert as a secret collaborator of the State Security Agency in the Czech underground between 1979 and 1989.

Abstract:

Předložená diplomová práce se zabývá úlohou Františka Horáčka jako tajného spolupracovníka Státní bezpečnosti (StB) v prostředí českého undergroundu. Úvodní část mj. obsahuje stručný nástin chápání pojmu underground v českém kontextu. V rámci jednotlivých kapitol jsou dále rozebírány a komentovány vybrané případy Horáčkovy "agentské" produkce. Na konkrétním příkladu spolupráce je zároveň zachycena metodika práce StB se svojí agenturní sítí. Krom popisu Horáčkova působení jako tajného spolupracovníka, má práce za cíl zachytit sociální rozměr jeho propůjčení se do služeb StB. Jsou tak částečně sledovány osudy některých osobností z prostředí českého undergroundu, jichž se Horáčkovo konfidentství úzce dotýkalo. "Oficiálně" udávaný způsob jeho motivace ke spolupráci je pak doplněn zamyšlením se nad motivací subjektivní, z pozice aktéra sociálních interakcí.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the role of František Horáček as a secret collaborator of the State Security (StB) in the environment of the Czech underground. Among others, the introductory part contains a brief outline of understanding the concept of underground in the Czech context. Within the individual chapters, selected cases of Horáček's "agent" production are analyzed and commented on. At the same time, the methods of the work of the State Security and its agency network are captured using a particular example of collaboration. Besides describing Horáček's working as a secret collaborator, the thesis is aimed to capture the social dimension of his descending to the State Security service. The fates of some personalities of the Czech underground environment closely affected by Horáček's informing are thus partially observed. The "officially" given way of his motivation to cooperate is completed by the reflection on the subjective motivation from the position of the player in social interactions.
