Industry 4.0, IoT and their influence on business models

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je objasnit pojmy související se čtvrtou průmyslovou revolucí a najít a rozebrat příklady díky Průmyslu 4.0 a IoT „upgradovaných“ či dokonce nově vzniklých business modelů. Dále je cílem zmapovat jaké příležitosti, potažmo hrozby, Průmysl 4.0 a internet věcí přinášejí a to, jak mohou ovlivňovat celkový uživatelský zážitek. Teoretické poznatky jsou aplikovány na praktickém příkladu, kde autorka analyzuje jednotlivé business modely konkrétní organizace a navrhuje jejich vylepšení díky moderním technologiím. V práci je použita metoda kvalitativního výzkumu, v rámci něhož byla využita metoda zúčastněného pozorování. Závěrem práce je zjištění, že vliv Průmyslu 4.0 a IoT je jednoznačný a že s sebou přinášejí mnoho příležitostí, nejen v oblasti business modelů.

Abstract:

The aim of this work is to clarify the concepts related to the fourth industrial revolution and to find and analyze examples of by Industry 4.0 and IoT of "upgraded" or even emerging business models. It also aims to map out what opportunities or threats Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things bring and how they can influence the overall user experience. Theoretical knowledge is applied on a practical example where the author analyses individual business models of a specific organization and proposes their improvement through modern technologies. A qualitative research method is used in the Thesis, where the method of participating observation was used. The conclusion of the Thesis is the fact that the impact of Industry 4.0 and IoT is unambiguous and brings with it many opportunities not only in business models.
