The issue of woman's pregnancy at higher age

Abstract:

Cíl: Cílem bakalářské práce bylo popsat možná rizika těhotenství ve vyšším věku ze strany těhotné ženy i ze strany nenarozeného dítěte. Cílem praktické části bylo uvést nejčastější důvody těhotenství ve vyšším věku a nejčastější komplikace tohoto těhotenství u klientek na vybraných pracovištích. Metodika: Pro dosažení stanovených cílů byla zvolena kvantitativní metoda sběru dat formou nestandardizovaného dotazníku u záměrně vybraných těhotných žen ve vyšším věku. Výsledky tohoto průzkumu byly v některých otázkách porovnávány s výsledky průzkumu studentky Terezie Pazdurové z roku 2005. Výsledky: Dotazníkovým šetřením bylo zjištěno, jaké komplikace nejčastěji postihují těhotné ve vyšším věku. Nejčastěji se jednalo o problém s otěhotněním, předčasný odtok plodové vody, předčasný nástup děložních kontrakcí a samovolný potrat. Těhotenství bylo u rodiček ve vyšším věku nejčastěji neplánované, dále se často jednalo o touhu po dítěti. Závěr: Těhotenství ve vyšším věku s sebou nese svá rizika a komplikace a výskyt těchto komplikací byl u těhotných žen ve vyšším věku, tedy ve věku nad 35 let, vyšší, než je všeobecná incidence. Abstract:

ABSTRACT The aim: The aim of the bachelor thesis is to describe possible risks of pregnancy at higher age both with the mother and the unborn child, furthermore to describe the issue of fertility, ways of conception and contraceptive methods. The aim of practical part was to list most common reasons of becoming pregnant at a higher age and most common complications of such pregnancy. Methodology: To reach the established aim I used a quantitative method of data collection in the form of nonstandardized questionnaire with intentionally selected group of pregnant women at a higher age. Results of some questions in the questionairre were compared with results of questionairre in Pazderkova's bachelor thesis. Results: My investigation led to finding out which complications affect pregnant women at a higher age the most. Those were most often difficulties with conception, premature rupture of membranes, early onset of contractions and spontaneous miscarriage. Usually, pregnancy within women of a higher age was unplanned or the reason to get pregnant at higher age was just the will to have a baby. Conclusion: Pregnancy at a higher age is usually connected to higher appearance of complications and risks and those complications were more frequent within women of higher age - considering age of 35 years and more - than the general incidency.
