Gastronomical festivals as a support of gastrotourism in European Union

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je věnovana Evropským gastronomickým festivalům a jejich působením na gastroturismus. Hlavním cílem je zjistit význam, postavení a specifičnost evropských gastrofestivalů v cestovním ruchu. Získaná informace poslouží jako základ a podpora pro zpracování návrhů na zlepšení efektivity gastronomických festivalů. Bakalářská práce se skládá ze tří části, které jsou rozdělené na kapitoly a subkapitaly. První část poskytuje teoretický pohled na nový trend cestovního ruchu - gastronomický turismus. V druhé části pomocí následujících analýz: deskripce, vymezení silných a slabých stránek festivalů a dotazníkové šetření zjistím, v čem spočívá podpora gastrofestivalů pro kulinářský cestovní ruch. Třetí část představuje vlastní návrhy a doporučení na zefektivnění gastronomických festivalů tak, aby došlo k většímu rozvoji gastroturismu.

Abstract:

This graduation dissertation deals with a survey of European food festivals concerning their influence on culinary tourism development. The main aim of the paper is to establish the meaning, status and peculiar character of European festivals in the tourist industry. The received information will serve as a foundation and assistance in forming proposals on increasing effectiveness of gastronomic festivals. The graduation dissertation consists of three parts divided into chapters and subchapters. The first part represents a theoretical view of a new trend in the tourist industry – gastronomic tourism. In the second part the following types of analysis have been used: description, accentuation of strengths and weaknesses of festivals and questionnaire. Thanks to this we can reveal the nature of that support which food festivals provide for the tourist or hospitality business. The third part contains my own proposals and advice regarding intensification of effectiveness of gastrofestivals entailing wider development of culinary tourism on the whole.
