Issues of Gender in Children's Tales: Little Red Riding Hood and The Little Mermaid

Abstract:
Tato práce se zaměřuje na otázku genderu v pohádkách. Dvě verze pohádky Malá mořská víla a šest verzí pohádky O Červené Karkulce jsou srovnávány z pohledu genderové otázky. Tato práce demonstruje, jak osobní názory autorů a historický vývoj ovlivňují vnímání genderu v pohádkách.
Abstract:
This work focuses on a gender issue in children{\crq}s tales. Two versions of The Little Mermaid and six versions of Little Red Riding Hood are compared from the viewpoint of gender. The work shows how personal opinions of writers and historical development influence the notion of gender in children{\crq}s tales.
