Breast cancer pitfalls in women

Abstract:

Tématem mé bakalářské práce jsou Nástrahy karcinomu prsu u žen. Touto tématikou jsem se chtěla zabývat, jelikož s tímto onemocněním se často setkávám ve svém okolí (přátelé, příbuzní, rodina). Také jsem se inspirovala u mé maminky, která se karcinomem prsu zabývala ve své absolventské práci. Toto onemocnění je velmi aktuální, postihuje už i mladé ženy a muže. Je důležité rozšířit povědomí širší veřejnosti o prevenci karcinomu prsu, samovyšetření prsu a docházení na pravidelné gynekologické prohlídky. Hlavním cílem v teoretické části mé bakalářské práce, je seznámení s pojmem karcinom prsu a s jeho nástrahami. S dostupností a možností léčby, existující podpůrné skupiny pro ženy s touto diagnostikou, a možnosti psychoterapie. Také o kompenzačních pomůckách, umožňující plnohodnotný život ženy po ablaci prsu. Cíle v praktické části zahrnují znalost a informovanost žen o karcinomu prsu, jeho komplikací, a o dodržování prevence jejich gynekologů. Podstatou je zvýšit povědomí o tomto onemocnění, jeho nástrahách a také zvýšit informovanost o jeho prevenci. V rámci praktické části byla zvolena kvantitativní metoda pro průzkumné šetření pomocí nestandardizovaného dotazníku. Výsledky byly zpracovány do grafů a tabulek. Některé odpovědi na otázky byly velmi překvapující, zjistilo se, že mnoho gynekologů prsy na preventivních prohlídkách nevyšetřují, ani moc žen na pravidelné prohlídky nechodí, např. chodí pouze při obtížích, nedostávají dostatečné informace o prevenci karcinomu prsu a samovyšetření. V závěru jsme celkově shrnuli výsledky z průzkumného šetření. Výsledkem této práce je vytvoření informačního letáčku, který obsahuje důležité informace o karcinomu prsu, prevenci, samovyšetření prsu a podpůrné organizace, které se tímto onemocněním zaobírají.

Abstract:

The topic of my bachelor's thesis is Pitfalls of breast cancer in women. I wanted to deal with this topic, because I often encounter this disease in my surroundings (friends, relatives, family). I was also inspired by my mother, who dealt with breast cancer in her graduate work. This disease is very current, it already affects young women and men. It is important to increase the awareness of the wider public about breast cancer prevention, breast self-examination and regular gynecological examinations. The main goal in the theoretical part of my bachelor's thesis is to familiarize myself with the concept of breast cancer and its pitfalls. With availability and treatment options, existing support groups for women with this diagnosis, and psychotherapy options. Also about compensatory aids, enabling a woman to live a full life after breast ablation. Objectives in the practical part include women's knowledge and awareness of breast cancer, its complications, and adherence to prevention by their gynecologists. The essence is to raise awareness of this disease, its pitfalls, and also to raise awareness of its prevention. As part of the practical part, a quantitative method was chosen for exploratory research using a non-standardized questionnaire. The results were processed into graphs and tables. Some of the answers to the questions were very surprising, it was found that many gynecologists do not examine the breasts during preventive examinations, nor do many women go for regular examinations, e.g. they only go when they have difficulties, they do not receive sufficient information about breast cancer prevention and self-examination. In the end, we summarized the results of the exploratory survey. The result of this work is the creation of an information leaflet that contains important information about breast cancer, prevention, breast self-examination and support organizations that deal with this disease.
