Comparison of forest regeneration on selected calamitous clearings in the area of the southern part of the Nízký Jeseník

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na porovnávání tří různých způsobů obnovy velkoplošných kalamitních holin. V práci jsou pospány odlišnosti vývoje přirozené obnovy na vytěžené lokalitě ponechané přirozenému vývoji, lokalitě, na níž byla ponechána mrtvá dřevní hmota, a lokalitě, kde došlo k umělé výsadbě bukové monokultury. U jednotlivých ploch je zjištěna početnost výskytu jednotlivých druhů dřevin, jejich poškození a mortalita, posouzena vhodnost přípravy plochy. Dále je u ploch zevrubně vyčíslena úspora oproti vzniku obnovy sukcesí. Plochy jsou následně vzájemně porovnány mezi sebou z výše uvedených hledisek, a je u nich posouzena vhodnost využití v praxi. Bylo zjištěno, že přirozená obnova u vyčištěných bezzásahových ploch byla nejvíce druhově variabilní s celkovým výskytem 16 druhů dřevin z čehož největší počet byl tvořen pionýrskými dřevinami. U lokality s ponechanou mrtvou dřevní hmotou byla druhová diverzita menší, avšak podíl hospodářsky cenných dřevin zde byl vyšší. U kontrolní uměle vysázené holiny byly pozorovány výrazné ztráty z důvodu obhospodařování plochy.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis is focused on the comparison of 3 different ways of restoration of large-scale calamitous clearings. The work describes the differences in the development of natural regeneration on 3 different locations which are: harvested location left to natural developement, location where dead wood was left and location where was artificially planted monoculture of beech. For individual areas, a change in the occurrence of tree species, damage and mortality of tree species, suitability of area preparation is found. Furthermore, the savings caused by succession are quantified for each area. The areas are then compared with each other, and the suitability of use in practice is assessed. It was found that the natural regeneration of cleaned non-intervention areas was the most species-variable with a total occurrence of 16 tree species, of which the largest number was pioneer trees. In the locality where was left dead wood mass, the species diversity was smaller, but the portion of economically valuable tree species here was higher. Significant losses due to area management were observed in the control artificially planted locality
