Love, Death and Tragedy in Edgar Allan Poe's Fiction and Tim Burton's Movies
Abstract:
This thesis attempts to outline the love, death and tragedy in Edgar Allan Poe?s fiction and Tim Burton?s movies by putting both authors into the historical and literary genre contexts, then consecutively analysing chosen pieces of the authors? works and leading to a comparison of both authors where the focus is put on the themes of love, death and tragedy, which they share.
Abstract:
V diplomové práci jsou sledována témata lásky, smrti a tragédie v díle Edgara Allana Poe a ve filmech Tima Burtona. Oba autoři jsou uvedeni v historickém a literárním kontextu, poté jsou jejich vybraná díla sledována se zaměřením na témata lásky, smrti a tragédie. Práce ústí ve srovnání společných i jedinečných rysů díla obou umělců.
