Meaning transfer in selected English texts
Abstract:
The work deals with mechanisms which allow the transfer of meaning. The first part is theoretic, there are following expressions explained: metaphor, metonymy, simile, personification, euphemism, oxymorone, hyperbole,synecdoche, idiom. In the second part there are more than 160 examples of figurative language.
Abstract:
Jedná se o práci, která se zabývá mechanismy, které umožňují přenášení významu slov. První část je teoretická, vysvětluje pojmy metafora, metonymie, personifikace, přirovnání,oxymoron, eufemismus, hyperbola,synekdocha, idiom. Druhá část je praktická, je v ní uvedeno více než 160 autentických příkladů obrazného jazyka.
