Testing of GNSS Trimble R2 Geodetic Receiver Capabilities for Physical Geographic Mapping

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce popisuje možnosti geodetického přijímače GNSS Trimble R2 pro fyzickogeografické mapování. Cílem bylo vyzkoušet a zhodnotit funkce tohoto přístroje v terénu. Vyhodnocení přesnosti přístroje probíhalo na základě měření na geodetických bodech se známými souřadnicemi a dále byla otestovaná technologie Floodlight, díky které americká firma Trimble uvádí, že je s tímto GNSS přijímačem možno měřit i ve špatně dostupných podmínkách. Dospívá k závěru, že přístroj lze pro fyzickogeografické mapování využívat, ale měření v lese či v blízkosti vysokých budov je problematické.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis describes the possibilities of the GNSS receiver Trimble R2 for physical-geographic mapping. The main task was test and evaluate the functions of this device in the field. The accuracy of this receiver was evaluated on the basis of measurements at geodetic points with known coordinates, and the Floodlight technology was also tested. Thanks to this the American company Trimble claim that it´s possible to measure with this GNSS receiver even in bad conditions. This thesis come to a conclusion that the device can be used for physical-geographic mapping, but measurement in the forest or near tall buildings is problematic.
