Software Tools for Creating Photo-books

Abstract:

Práca sa zameriava na princípy tvorby počítačovej grafiky, jej spracovanie a ná-sledné využitie pri tvorbe fotoknihy. S počítačovou grafikou sa dnes stretávajú všetky ge-nerácie a to každodenne a niekedy si to ľudia ani neuvedomujú, ale výtvory počítačovej grafiky sú všade na vôkol v podobe napr. letákov, bilbordov, či reklám v televízii. Rozdelenie práce na jednotlivé kapitoly je systematicky členené, pričom v úvode sú popísané základné princípy tvorby počítačovej grafiky. Z počítača sa obraz vykresľuje po-mocou zobrazovacieho zariadenia, u ktorého sa najčastejšie využívajú dve metódy. Prvá využíva na zobrazenie lúče z katódovej trubice a druhá zasa vykresľuje obraz pomocou tekutých kryštálov. Ďalej sa v kapitole nachádza popis jednotlivých zariadení s princípom fungovania, ktoré dokážu preniesť digitálny obraz do tlačovej podoby. Druhá kapitola sa zaoberá častou problematikou pri prenose digitálneho obrazu na papier. Jedná sa o skreslenie a rozdielne vyobrazenie farieb medzi monitorom a tým, čo je na papieri. Na optimálne zladenie monitora s tlačiarňou slúži kalibrácia, ktorú je možné vykonať ľudským okom alebo sondou. V teoretickej časti sa posledná kapitola venuje opisu siedmych najčas-tejšie využívaných poskytovateľov na tvorbu fotokníh. Na vytvorenie fotoknihy ponúkajú poskytovatelia špeciálny voľne stiahnuteľný softvér, alebo online aplikáciu. Prvá polovica praktickej časti práce spočíva v stanovení odporúčania, pri rôznych uhloch pohľadu na jednotlivé služby poskytovateľov. Výsledné zistenia a ponúkané služby sú na konci kapitoly zhrnuté do prehľadnej tabuľky. V druhej polovici praktickej časti je pomocou vybraného softvéru demonštrovaná tvorba fotoknihy, s opisom daného editora, jeho funkciami a možnosťami úprav vložených fotografií.

Abstract:

The scope of this thesis is on principles of computer graphics, it´s processing and subsequent usage in the creation of photobooks. Nowadays, all generations are in contact with computer graphics. It occurs daily and sometimes people do not even realize it, but the products of computer graphics are all around, for example leaflets, billboards or adver-tisements on the television. The thesis is systematically divided into chapters; in the introduction, the basic prin-ciples of creating a computer graphics are described. The computer projects picture using displaying device, and this can be done using two most common methods. The first method utilizes beam from cathode tube and the second one utilizes liquid crystals. The rest of the chapter focuses on the description of devices which help to transfer the digital picture on the paper. The second chapter looks at the problems associated with the mentioned transfer of the digital picture onto paper. The main problem is the distortion and different representation of colors between monitor and paper. Calibration methods can be used in order to optimally align monitor and printer, which can be done visually or using a probe. The theoretical part of the last chapter focuses on the description of seven most commonly used providers of photo books. The providers offer special, freely downloadable software or online application for producing a photo book. The first half of the practical part summarizes and establishes recommendations from dif-ferent points of view, focusing on individual services supplied by the providers. The find-ings and offered services are summarized at the end of the chapter in a table. The second half of the practical part demonstrates creation of a photo book using recommended soft-ware, along with the description of the given editor, its functions and possibilities of edit-ing photographs.
