Parazitičtí helminti jsou původci často smrtelných onemocnění (tzv. helmintóz) zvířat a lidí. Abychom mohli s helminty účinně bojovat, je nutné porozumět molekulární biologii a biochemii těchto parazitů. Parasitic helminths are causative agents of number of serious diseases (helminthiases) of animals and people. The efficiency of fight against the helminths is based also on detailed knowledge of their molecular biology and biochemistry.
