The use of a small and medium enterprise as a determinant of growth of regional economy

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku malých středních podniků (MSP) a jejich uplatnění jako faktoru růstu regionální ekonomiky. První část práce je věnována obecnému pojednání o MSP a regionální ekonomice. Druhá část analyzuje působení MSP v regionu. K posouzení jednotlivých faktorů je použito analýzy externího a interního prostředí a sestrojení matice EFE a IFE. Třetí část se zabývá ekonomickou efektivností podnikání MSP. Vyhodnocení ekonomické situace je zpracováno nejen z pohledu počtu podnikatelských subjektů, ale i z pohledu jednotlivých právních forem podnikání. Po této kapitole následuje zhodnocení MSP jako faktoru ovlivňující zaměstnanost regionu. V závěru práce jsou uvedeny možné trendy dalšího vývoje MPS. Informace byly čerpány z odborné literatury, statistických výkazů Českého statistického úřadu, Ministerstva průmyslu a obchodu a portálu ISPV. Z hodnocení vyplývá, že MSP hrají významnou roli jak v celém národním hospodářství, tak i v regionální ekonomice, výstupy diplomové práce mapují podnikatelské prostředí v konkrétním regionu.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on the small and medium enterprises (SME) and their use as a growth factor in regional economy. The first part is devoted to general discussion of the SME and regional economy. The second part is focused on analyzing the affect of MSP in a region. The methods used to assess individual factors are analysis of external and internal enviroment and construction of EFE and IFE matrixes. Economic efficiency of business of SME is followed in the third section. Evaluation of economic situation is processed not only from the perspective of number of business entities but the view of individual legal forms of business is taken into account as well. The assessment of SME as a determinant affecting regional employment is followed in the next section. There are mentioned possible trends of further development of SME at the end of the thesis. Information were drawn from professional literature, statistical summaries of Czech Statistical Office, Ministry of Industry of the Czech Republic and the website of the Average Earnings Information System. The assessment shows that SMEs are playing very important role both in the entire national economy and in regional economy. The thesis output conducts a survey of business enviroment in a specific region.
