Nonverbal communication of newborns in the special care baby unit

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá nonverbální komunikací novorozenců na intermediární jednotce. Teoretická část obsahuje poznatky z oblasti neonatologie a perinatologie, nedonošeného novorozence. Důležitá část se týká práce porodní asistentky na intermediární jednotce, navazováním vztahu mezi novorozencem a rodiči a vysvětlení základů v oblasti nonverbální komunikace nedonošených novorozenců. Průzkumná část je kvalitativní šetření pomocí polostrukturovaných rozhovorů. V rámci rozhovorů bylo zjišťováno, jak matky vnímají projevy nonverbální komunikace u svého novorozence, prostředí intermediární jednotky a práci zdravotníků na této jednotce.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals with the non-verbal communication of newborns in the special care baby unit. The theoretical part contains findings from the field of neonatology and perinatology regarding premature newborns. An important part looks at the work of midwives in the special care baby-unit, establishing a relationship between the newborn and the parents and explaining the basics in the field of non-verbal communication of premature newborns. The exploratory part is a qualitative research using interviews. As part of the interview, it was explored how mothers perceive non-verbal communication in their newborn's, as well as the environment of special care baby unit, and the work of healthcare professionals in this unit.
