Theatre as the Therapy: Comparison of Methods of Working Theatre therapy and Drama Therapy

Abstract:

Předkládaná práce je koncipována jako vhled do problematiky terapií využívajících především divadelní a dramatické prostředky za účelem léčby tělesných nebo duševních poruch. Představuji dva rozdílné přístupy k terapiím využívajícím divadla a divadelních prostředků – teatroterapii a dramaterapii a jejich současnou podobu v České republice, popsanou prostřednictvím dvou významných sdružení, která využívají divadlo ve svých terapiích, přičemž každé pracuje odlišným způsobem. Jsou to Sdružení Podané ruce a Bohnická divadelní společnost. První kapitola se věnuje teorii a historii obou přístupů. Těžiště práce jsem zasadila do druhé kapitoly, kde představuji historii práce obou sdružení od jejich vzniku až po současnost a snažím se přiblížit způsoby a přístupy jejich práce. Poslední kapitola těží z obou předchozích kapitol a zaměřuje se na konkrétní způsob práce jednotlivých organizací, jedinců či sdružení, které se věnují teatroterapii a dramaterapii v České republice. Závěr práce se věnuje vyhodnocení poznatků, které přinesly jednotlivé kapitoly a celkovému významu vzniklé práce, naznačuje i cesty, kam by se studium mohlo rozvíjet dál.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the methods using theatre and drama as means for the treatment of physical and psychological disorders and it also introduces two approaches to therapies working with theatre and theatrical means: theatre therapy and drama therapy. The thesis analyses the current state of the therapies in the Czech Republic as described by two influential groups, Podané Ruce and the Bohnice Theatre Group. They both use the theatre as a part of their therapies, however, they make use different methods. The first chapter is devoted to the theory and history of the approaches. The main part of the thesis is in the second chapter, where the history of both groups and their working methods are introduced. The last chapter focuses on individual working methods of organisations, individuals and groups that use theatre and drama therapy in the Czech Republic. In the conclusion the findings of the individual chapters are summarised, the meaning of the thesis is discussed, and suggestions for further work in this field are presented.
