Broadening of freedom - fact or a pretext for gaining power and intensification of inequality?

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem problematiky svobody, její definicí a chápáním od minulosti po současnost. Cílem práce je analyzovat myšlenku svobody z hlediska filozofického, etického a politického chápání použitých autorů (jmenovitě Démokritos, Platón, Aristotelés, John Rawls a Robert Kagan), a zjistit, jestli svoboda v jejich myšlení a práci existuje. Součástí práce je také poskytnutí teoretického základu filozofie a myšlenek autorů pro dané téma.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the theme of freedom, its definition and understanding from past to present. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the idea of freedom in terms of philosophical, ethical and political understanding authors used (namely Democritus, Plato, Aristotle, John Rawls and Robert Kagan), and determine if the freedom of their thought and work exists. The work also provides a theoretical basis for the authors' philosophy and thoughts of the theme.
