Commuting of children to school through the eyes of their parents and its impact on the family

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá jevem dojíždění do školy malých dětí v raném školním věku z pohledu rodiny. Teoretická část práce pojednává o rodině a možnostech jejího vědeckého zkoumání, dále se zaměřuje na rodinu ve společenském kontextu a na vývoj rodiny a změny v ní. Práce také pojednává o vztahu rodiny ke škole, komunikaci mezi rodinu a školou a také v rodině samotné a dále se zabývá každodenním fungováním českých rodin. U všech uvedených témat je důležitý právě jev dojíždění, a jaký může být jeho vliv v těchto oblastech rodinného života. Empirická část práce seznamuje s výsledky kvalitativního výzkumu zaměřeného do prostředí rodin, které své dítě, zde převážně prvňáčka, dovážejí každý den vlastními silami do školy. Výzkum byl realizován metodou rozhovorů s rodiči dítěte. Výpovědi rodičů jsou dále analyzovány a interpretovány technikou otevřených karet. Práce je zakončena diskuzí nad dalšími možnostmi zkoumání tématu a rekapitulací výsledků výzkumu.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the phenomenon of young children commuting to school in early school age from the perspective of the family. The theoretical part deals with the family and possibilities of scientific research, focusing on the family in a social context and family development and changes in it. The work also deals with the relationship between family and school, communication between home and school and in the family itself and deals with the everyday functioning of Czech families. For all these topics is very important phenomenon of commuting, and what may be its influence in these areas of family life. The empirical part of the thesis presents the results of qualitative research focused on environment of families and their children who are mostly first graders, bringing them every day to school by themselves. The research was conducted by interviews with the child's parents. The statements of parents are further analyzed and interpreted by the technique of open tabs. The work ends with discussions on other ways of exploring the topic of research results and recapitulation.
