Analysis of the living strategy of the social assistance beneficiaries in the context of the public service

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá životní strategií příjemců sociální pomoci v kontextu nového opatření sociálního systému – institutu veřejné služby, který byl zaveden s účinností od 1. 1. 2009. Cílem práce je odpovědět na hlavní výzkumnou otázku: Jakým způsobem ovlivňuje institut veřejné služby životní strategii příjemců příspěvku na živobytí ve vztahu k trhu práce? V první kapitole je na základě platné legislativy a oficiálních dokumentů vysvětlen institut veřejné služby v kontextu pomoci v hmotné nouzi. Další klíčové pojmy, marginalizace příjemců sociální pomoci a jejich životní strategie, jsou uchopeny s pomocí teoretické literatury v dalších dvou kapitolách. Z těchto teoreticky orientovaných částí vyplynuly tři dílčí výzkumné otázky, na něž je hledána odpověď prostřednictvím kvalitativní výzkumné strategie. Vlastní výzkum byl realizován formou polostandardizovaných rozhovorů s příjemci příspěvku na živobytí a se sociálními pracovníky na úseku hmotné nouze v Teplicích. Získaná empirická data se stala podkladem analýzy, která umožnila odpovědět na vytyčené výzkumné otázky.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis deals with living strategy of the social assistance beneficiaries in the context of new provision of social system – the institute of the public service, which has been effective since 1st January 2009. The aim of my work is to answer the main research question: How is the living strategy of the social assistance beneficiaries influenced by the institute of the public service in relation to the job market. In the first part there is explained the institute of the public service in the context of the Material Support Act based on legislation and official documents. Other crucial terms – marginalization of the social assistance beneficiaries and their living strategy – are set with the aid of literature in the next two chapters. Three particular research questions, which are solved by qualitative research strategy, ensue from these theoretical parts. The research was realized using semistandardized interviews with the social assistance beneficiaries and social workers of material support department of local bureau in Teplice. The gained data build the fundament of the analysis, which allowed to answer the research questions.
