Female encouragement of the blood feud: Vengeance of Old Norse woman in the Old Icelandic family sagas in comparison to antique and Albanian woman
Abstract:
Práce má za úkol zjistit, zda se můžeme setkat s ženským podněcováním krevní msty i jinde než ve Skandinávii. Práce je postavena na látce staroislandských rodových ság a hledá paralelní chování žen ve společnosti i literatuře jiných kultur. Dále se práce zajímá o příčinu ženské pomstychtivosti a její historickou důvěryhodnost.
Abstract:
Aim of this thesis is to determine if we can find female encouragement of the blood feud elsewhere than in Scandinavia. The thesis is based on the substance taken from the Old Icelandic family sagas and seeks parallel behavior of women in society and literature of the other cultures. The thesis is also interested in the cause of women's vindictiveness and its historic credibility.
