Solving Strategies of Specific Cognitive Bias in Personal Learning Environment

Abstract:

V práci je řešen problém vybraných kognitivních zkreslení při studiu prostřednictvím osobního vzdělávacího prostředí. Osobní vzdělávací prostředí, neboli Personal Learning Environment (PLE), je tvořené kolekcí propojených nástrojů, služeb a zdrojů podporující učení a umožňující participaci v prostředí sítí spolu s aktivitami, jež se k němu váží. S PLE je spjata teorie konektivismu a sebeřízeného učení. Oba přístupy jsou v práci popsány, přičemž konektivismu je věnován větší prostor z důvodu sepjetí s online prostředím. Tato forma vzdělávání však může mít pro učícího své problémy, neboť na něj klade zvýšené nároky, které jsou spojeny například s omezením lidské kognice a chybovosti myšlenkových procesů, kterými jsou kognitivní zkreslení. V další části práce je představena problematika kognitivních zkreslení, spolu s významnými autory z oblasti. Těmi jsou například sebepotvrzování, informační zkreslení, chybný předpoklad, sociální zkreslení aj. Navázána je poslední část propojujícící aktivity v rámci PLE se zkresleními ke kterým zde může docházet, a nabízí strategie jejich řešení.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the problem of selected cognitive distortions during study through a personal educational environment. The Personal Learning Environment (PLE) is created by a collection of interconnected tools, services and learning-supporting resources that enable network participation along with the activities that are relevant to it. PLE is linked to the theory of connectivism and self-directed learning. Both approaches are described in the work, with connectivism being given more space because of direct connection to the online environment. This form of education, however, may have problems for its students, because it faces an increased difficulty, which is connected, for example, with the limitation of human cognition and the mistakes that are cognitive distortions. In the next part of the thesis is presented the issue of cognitive distortions, together with important authors from the area. These include, for example, self-confirmation, information bias, mistaken assumptions, social bias, etc. The last part of the PLE interconnects activities to the distortions that may occur and offers strategies for their solution.
