Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce „Vliv fúzí na výkonnost akcií zvolených firem “ je zhodnotit dopad fúzí na výkonnost akcií nabyvatelských společností. V minulosti už bylo na toto téma napsáno několik vědeckých prací, ne vždy se ale výsledky shodují. Cílem práce je studium odborné literatury a následné provedení event study na konkrétních datech. Kromě celkového dopadu bylo testováno, jak konkrétní determinanty vstupující do transakcí ovlivňují výkonnost akcií. Testováno bylo, zda akcie nabyvatelských společností generují pozitivní abnormální výnos. Na závěr práce jsou výsledky shrnuty a porovnány.

Abstract:

The goal of the master thesis „The effect of mergers on the stock per-formance of the selected companies“ is to evaluate the impact of mer-gers on stock performance of acquiring companies. Many studies have tried to cover this topic in the past, yet the results still tend to vary. Aim of this work was to study professional literature and later to exe-cute and event study based on specific data. Aside from the overall impact this work tests and describes how specific determinants taking place in transactions impact stock performance. Specifically, the work aims to answer whether the buyer company´s stock generates positive abnormal return or not. At the end of this work results are compared and summarized.
