Mathilde of Schwarzenberg: On a Destiny of an Unmarried Woman with Disabilities in the 19th Century
Abstract:
Předkládaná práce se zabývá životem Matyldy ze Schwarzenbergu (1804 ? 1886). Na základě písemné pozůstalosti Matyldy ze Schwarzenbergu, kterou od dětství provázely zdravotní potíže, sleduje, jak probíhala léčba a s ní spojené cesty do lázní. Práce ukazuje možnosti terapie v uvedené době. Dále představuje specifika postavení neprovdané ženy v 19. století v aristokratickém prostředí.
Abstract:
The thesis deals with the life of Mathilde Schwarzenberg (1804 ? 1886), who had health problems by childhood. The thesis monitors the treatment took place and the related trip to the spa. The work shows the possibilities of treatment in the 19th century. Then it discusses the specifics of the position of unmarried woman in the 19th century aristocratic environment.
