Separatism in Moravia between the years 1938 - 1945

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem separatistických tendencí, které se objevily na území Moravy v době trvání druhé republiky a Protektorátu Čechy a Morava. V první části práce je nastíněn novodobý vývoj problematiky postavení Moravy před rokem 1938 a východiska, se kterými separatisté později pracovali. Druhá část se věnuje pokusům separatistů z Moravského Slovácka o připojení části Moravy ke Slovensku a jejich působením v době druhé republiky. Ve třetí části jsou pak popsány organizace, jež nějakým významnějším způsobem usilovaly o změny v územním či politickém postavení Moravy v rámci tehdejšího státního útvaru, případně mimo něj. Pozornost je věnována především spolku "Národopisná Morava", dále pak autonomistickým snahám v rámci Národního tábora fašistického a nakonec menšímu spolku s názvem "Moravská nacionálně sociální strana". Práce popisuje dějiny a nejvýznamnější aktivity zmíněných organizací, přibližuje jejich program a hodnotí i jejich ohlas v rámci českých zemí a na Slovensku.

Abstract:

The final thesis is focused on the topic of separatist tendencies that appeared on the territory of Morava in the age of the Second Republic and Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. In the first part of the thesis the modern development of position of Moravia before the year of 1838 is foreshadowed. There are also some solutions that the separationists later on worked with. The second part is concentrated not only on the attempts of separatists from Moravian Slovakia to connect a part of Moravia to Slovakia but also on their influence at the age of Second Republic. In the third part, the organizations that were more or less seeking some changes in territorial or political position in terms of the political system at that time are described. The attention is the most importantly paid not only to the group "Národopisná Morava" (Ethnographic Moravia), but also to the separatist trials in terms of "Národní tábor fašistický" (National fascist camp) and a smaller organization called "Moravská nacionálně sociální strana" (Moravian national socialist party). The thesis describes the history and the most significant activities of the organizations mentioned. It also gives one an idea of the organizations' program and it evaluates their response in terms of Czech countries and Slovakia.
