Urban Sprawl - Metropolitan Development of the Olomouc City

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá vlivem Urban sprawlu na město Olomouc. Konkrétně je zaměřena na dvě vybrané lokality - Nový Svět a Slavonín. Tyto oblasti byly zvoleny na základě výsledků předchozího výzkumu provedeného metodou GIUS. Pomocí ankety byly zjištěny nejkritičtější body těchto oblastí a bylo provedeno srovnání a vyhodnocení situace. Závěrem této práce je tvrzení, že ačkoli se prvky Urban sprawl objevují v okolí města Olomouce pouze v menší míře, je nutné, aby se tomuto riziku věnovala dostatečná pozornost.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the influence of Urban Sprawl in the Olomouc city. Specifically it is focused on two selected areas - Nový Svět and Slavonín. These areas were chosen based on results from a prior GIUS method research. The most critical points of these areas were identified by using the public survey and their comparison and evaluation was performed. The concluding statement of this work is that even though the elements of Urban sprawl appear in the surroundings of the Olomouc city only in a smaller extent, it is still necessary that this risk is given sufficient attention.
