Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce “Změny v Rodilém Jazyce po Pobytu v Cizí Zemi“ zkoumá přízvuk tří rodilých mluvčích Angličtiny po delším pobytu v České Republice. Práce je rozdělená do dvou částí. Teoretická část obsahuje základní informace o tom co je to přízvuk, podstatné suprasegmentální prvky mluvy společně s některými faktory ovlivňující nářečí. Také se zde nachází kapitola o historickém vývoji Anglického jazyka a úvod do tří přízvuků, které se pojí s účastníky výzkumu. V praktické části se vyskytuje popis metod výzkumu a také představení tří mluvčích společně s jejich jazykovým původem. Tato část také zkoumá individuální odlišnosti v jazyce dvou mluvčích stejného přízvuku a porovnává je s ostatními mluvčími. Analýza je založená na nahrávkách jednotlivých mluvčích a jejich rodinného příbuzného, vybraného jako člověka, u kterého se předpokládá, že měl největší vliv na jejich přízvuk. Tento výzkum se také zaměřuje na vliv jazyka dané země, ve které mluvčí žije, a jejich obyvatelů na Angličtinu mluvčího jakožto i na konkrétní změny v jejich přízvuku.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis “Changes in a Speaker's Mother Tongue While Living in a Foreign Country” examines the accents of three English speakers, for whom English is the mother tongue, after having been in the Czech Republic for a prolonged period of time. This thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part includes basic information about what is an accent, relevant suprasegmental features of speech along with influential factors on one's dialect. It also contains a chapter about some development changes of the English language and introduction of three different dialects linked to the participants of the research. In the practical part the thesis introduces the methods of research as well as the three English speakers and their language backgrounds. It considers individual differences in sounds of two speakers of the same accent and compares them to the other speakers. This analysis is based on recordings of the respondent's English today and their closest relative chosen by them as a person who they think could have been the most influential on their original accent. The focus of this thesis is also on the influence of the country's language, that the respondents have lived in, and its residents on the English language of the speaker as well as on the particular changes in their accents.
