Remuneration of employees in the field of gastronomy: comparison of the period before and during the Covid-19 pandemic

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce hodnotí situaci v oblasti odměňování zaměstnanců v gastronomii a poukazuje na dopady, které pandemie Covid-19 na tuto oblast měla a stále má. Teoretická část se zabývá odměňováním a bližší specifikací jeho základních charakteristik a mzdy, jako jednoho z odměňovacích nástrojů . Dále definuje obor gastronomie a jeho význam, historii a současnost. Posledním z pilířů teoretické části je onemocnění Covid-19 a jeho dopady na českou ekonomiku a obor gastronomie. Praktická část zkoumá úroveň mezd zaměstnanců gastronomie v ČR a správnost jejího nastavení v souladu s českou legislativou, dále dopady pandemie Covid-19 na mzdy a pracovní místa zaměstnanců gastronomie a také komparaci úrovně mezd v ČR a dalších vybraných evropských zemí. Podklady pro výzkum jsou získány z online dotazníkového šetření a statistik, dostupných ve veřejných databázích. Výsledky výzkumu poskytují základ pro doporučení k optimalizaci systému odměňování v tomto oboru, určený zaměstnancům, zaměstnavatelům a Vládě ČR.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis evaluates the situation in the field of remuneration of employees in gastronomy and points out the impacts that the Covid-19 pandemic has had and still has in this area. The theoretical part deals with remuneration and a more detailed specification of its basic characteristics and wages, as one of the remuneration tools. It also defines the field of gastronomy and its importance, history and present. The last column of the theoretical part is the disease Covid-19 and its impacts on the Czech economy and the field of gastronomy. The practical part examines the level of wages of gastronomy employees in the Czech Republic and the correctness of its setting in accordance with Czech legislation, the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on wages and jobs of gastronomy employees and the comparison of wages in the Czech Republic and other selected European countries. Research materials are obtained from an online questionnaire survey and statistics available in public databases. The results of the research provide a basis for recommendations for optimizing the remuneration system in this field, intended for employees, employers and the Government of the Czech Republic.
