Polymer nanocomposites and their applications in electrical engineering

Abstract:

V překládané bakalářské práci je nejprve definován pojem nanotechnologie. Mluvíme-li o polymerních nanokompozitech, bylo třeba zmínit, co je to kompozit a polymer. Následně jsou uvedeny vhodné nanočástice pro disperzi v polymerní matrici. Vlastnosti polymeru se modifikují přidáním malého množství hmotnostních procent nanoplniv. Ty mění mechanické a elektrické vlastnosti polymeru. Například nanoplniva jako oxid kremičitý, oxid hlinitý nebo oxid titaničitý hrají v nanokompozitech důležitou roli ve zlepšení elektrické pevnosti a odolnosti proti částečným výbojům. Na závěr je v této práci uvedeno užití polymerních nanokompozitů. Ty se užívají především díky jejich dielektrickým vlastnostem v silnoproudé elektrotechnice, nicméně najdou mnohá uplatnění i v elektronice.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis was written primarily using literature from abroad. First, we define nanotechnology. Following this, we discuss composites and polymers in general. In the next chapter we discuss nanocomposites in general, along with nanofillers and their dispersion in a polymer matrix. The next topic is the modification of the properties of nanocomposites with nanofillers in order to improve certain properties of the matter. By adding a small amount of weight percentage (wt%) of nanofillers, the physical, mechanical, and electrical properties of polymers can be greatly enhanced. For instance, nanofillers in nanocomposites such as silica (SiO2), alumina (Al2O3) and titania (TiO2) play a big role in providing a good approach to increasing the dielectric breakdown strength and partial discharge resistance of nanocomposites. Finally, the application of nanocomposites in electrical engineering is discussed. They have a great use in a power system, but also in electronics.
