Figures of speech in the work of J.M.G. Le Clézio and elaboration of pedagogical support

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the figures of speech in the work of J.M.G. Le Clézio. Namely, the thesis deals with the following figures: comparison, metaphore, personification, synesthesia, metonymy, synecdoche and hyperbole. The main aim is to create a complex image of the figures of speech in the work of J.M.G. Le Clézio thanks to the detailed analysis of one of his short stories Peuple du ciel and a majority of his novelistic works. The thesis is devided into two main parts. The first part deals with the theoretical presentation of the figures of speech as well as with the importance of the work of J.M.G. Le Clézio. The second part is practical and deals with the detailed analysis of particular figures in the short story Peuple du ciel. Finally, this part contains a pedagogical support with exercises destined for the students at secondary school.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá stylistickými figurami v díle J.M.G. Le Clézia. Konkrétně se jedná o přirovnání, metaforu, personifikaci, synestézii, metonymii, synekdochu a hyperbolu. Hlavním cílem práce je vytvoření celkového obrazu stylistických figur francouzského spisovatele J.M.G. Le Clézia, a to díky detailní analýze stylistických figur v povídce Peuple du ciel i v řadě dalších románových a povídkových děl tohoto autora. Diplomová práce je rozdělena na dvě hlavní části. První část práce, která slouží jako podklad pro praktickou část, je věnována teoretickému vymezení stylistických figur. Praktická část se soustředí na analýzu a interpretaci jednotlivých stylistických figur v konkrétní povídce Peuple du ciel autora J.M.G. Le Clézia. Součástí praktické části jsou pedagogické listy, které mohou sloužit při výuce francouzského jazyka na středních školách.
