Seriál Buffy, přemožitelka upírů se vysílal mezi lety 1997 – 2003 a už od svého vzniku vyvolával značné akademické debaty. Vzhledem k velkému množství odborných prací i přednášek na vědeckých konferencích se dokonce mluví o oboru Buffy studies. Television show Buffy the Vampire Slayer was aired in the years 1997 – 2003 and was from its very beginning very popular within the academic public. Due the great amount of scholarly writings and papers given on conferences on this topic people are even talking about field of Buffy studies.
