Abstract:

Cíl: Cílem diplomové práce bylo zjistit, vyhodnotit a porovnat ageistické postoje a předsudky dvou typů odborných zdravotnických škol vůči k seniorům. Metodika: Data byla sbírána v období duben-červen 2018 pomocí dvou dotazníků. První dotazník "Věkové IQ", který byl zpracován a přizpůsoben českým realitám, dle výukových materiálů University v Berkeley: Stárnutí - modul Ageism, MUDr. Tamarou Tošnerovou. Druhý dotazník, upravený pro potřeby práce, byl použit z překládané publikace anglického originálu Demystifying the Myths of Ageing, vydaného světovou zdravotnickou organizací. Výsledky: Ageismus či ageisticky zbarvené postoje se vyskytují u studentů obou typů zdravotnických škol. Z hlediska typu studia a typů předsudků vůči seniorům neexistuje statisticky významná závislost. Z řad respondentů není po ukončení studia na odborné škole převážně zájem pracovat v zařízení, kde bude převaha seniorů. Závěr: Ageisticky zbarvené postoje se mezi studenty zdravotnických škol vyskytují a projevují se různými způsoby, které mají negativní dopad na ošetřovatelskou péči. Správná motivace a nadšení pro práci se seniory je nezbytně nutná k překonání vyskytujících se stereotypů a vžitých mýtů. Cílem výuky je připravit studenty, aby byli vůči seniorům nezaujatí a aby předsudky, které mohou mít, neměly dopad na poskytovanou ošetřovatelskou péči.

Abstract:

Aim: The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out, evaluate and compare the attitudes and prejudices of students of two types of nursing schools towards seniors. Methodology: Data collection took place in the period from April to June 2018 by two questionnaires. The first questionnaire "Age IQ", which was elaborated and adapted to Czech realities according to the teaching materials of the University of Berkeley: Aging Ageism by MUDr. Tamarou Tošnerovou. The second questionnaire, adapted for work needs, is based on the translated publication of the English original Demystifying the myths of aging issued by the World Health Organization. Results: Students of both types of nursing schools are affected by ageism or ageistic attitudes. There is no statistically significant dependence on type of study and types of prejudices towards the elders. There is largely no interest among respondents to work in facility with most of the elder patients after finishing their studies. Conclusion: Ageist attitudes occurs among students and manifest in various ways, which have negative effect on nursing care. The right motivation and enthusiasm for work with elder people is essential to overcome possible stereotypes and established myths. Aim of the tuition is to prepare students not to have prejudices, which could have had negative result on provided nursing care.
