Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce se zabývá Organizací Severoatlantické smlouvy (NATO) ve vztahu k bezpečnosti České republiky, přičemž daná problematika je zde řešena v širších souvislostech složitých evropských a transatlantických vztahů. Bezpečnost našeho státu se po vstupu do NATO opírá o kolektivní obranu v rámci silné transatlantické vazby. Tento zásadní benefit je však částí laické, ale i odborné veřejnosti často konfrontován s negativními, zejména ekonomickými či politickými aspekty našeho členství v NATO. Diplomová práce si tedy klade za cíl identifikovat a následně analyzovat pozitivní i negativní faktory mající vliv na celkovou perspektivu našeho členství v NATO, a to na základě dostupných dat a informací získaných s využitím odpovídajících metod vědeckého výzkumu. Úvodní část práce tvoří teoretická východiska, na která navazuje empirická část, v níž jsou pomocí kvantitativního výzkumu a následné SWOT analýzy potvrzeny či vyvráceny hypotézy stanovené na základě definovaných cílů práce. Výsledná zjištění jsou interpretována v závěrečné diskusi.

Abstract:

The submitted diploma thesis deals with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in relation to the security of the Czech Republic, while the issue is addressed in the broader context of complex European and transatlantic relations. After joining NATO, the security of our state is based on collective defense within a strong transatlantic link.However, this fundamental benefit is often confronted by the lay as well as the professional public with the negative, especially economic or political aspects of our NATO membership. The diploma thesis aims to identify and then analyze the positive and negative factors affecting the overall perspective of our membership in NATO, based on available data and information obtained using appropriate methods of scientific research. The introductory part of the work consists of theoretical background, which is followed by an empirical part, in which the hypotheses set on the basis of defined work objectives are confirmed or refuted by means of quantitative research and subsequent SWOT analysis. The resulting findings are interpreted in the final discussion.
