Pronunciation training of German as a foreign language after English - with the mother tongue language Czech: Problems, Chances, General conditions

Abstract:

The topic of this thesis is: “Pronunciation training of German as a foreign language after English - with the mother tongue language Czech: Problems, Chances, General conditions.” This study explores the methods of teaching German language pronunciation and attempts to overview similarities between the pronunciation of German, English and Czech languages. It highlights the positive or/and negative influences of these languages on each other in various fields of linguistics. In addition, it describes multilingualism and tertiary didactics in Europe with the further focus on Czech Republic. It introduces reader to basic terminology such as phonetics, phonology, pronunciation, interference, transfer, language policy, multilingualism and others. The goal is to evaluate results from an experiment conducted on three Czech universities and to suggest the direction for future education of German pronunciation as a second foreign language.

Abstract:

Tématem diplomové práce je: „Výuka výslovnosti v hodinách německého jazyka jako druhého cizího jazyka po angličtině na příkladu českých žáků: Problémy, šance, rámcové podmínky.“ Práce pojednává o tom, jak probíhá výuka německého jazyka z hlediska výslovnosti a snaží se uvést přehled společných rysů češtiny, angličtiny a němčiny. Je také důležité osvětlit, zda dané jazyky mají na sebe pozitivní či negativní vliv v různých oblastech lingvistických disciplín. Dále popisuje vícejazyčnost a terciální didaktiku v Evropě a následně podrobněji v České republice. Seznamuje se základními pojmy jako fonetika, fonologie, výslovnost, interference, transfer, jazyková politika, vícejazyčnost, mnohojazyčnost a jiné. Cílem práce je vyhodnotit výsledky výzkumu prováděného na třech českých školách a naznačit cestu možné výuky výslovnosti němčiny jako druhého cizího jazyka do budoucnosti.
