Role of an information specialist in the health service

Anotácia:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na roli, kterou sehrávají informační specialisté ve zdravotnictví, a to v českém a anglo-americkém kontextu. V teoretické části jsou definovány základní pojmy a rozebrány kompetence, kterými musí informační specialista působící ve zdravotnictví disponovat. Dále je popsáno, jaké varianty pracovních pozic pro informační specialisty existují v anglo-americkém prostředí a jak může informační specialista získat potřebné kompetence pro výkon své profese. Varianty pozic a možnosti získání kompetencí jsou popsány i v prostředí českém. V praktické části jsou kombinací kvantitativního (dotazník) a kvalitativního (rozhovory) šetření zjišťovány možnosti uplatnění informačních specialistů v České republice v současné době a jaké profesní požadavky jsou na ně kladeny. Dále jsou v praktické části srovnávány možnosti dosažení potřebných kompetencí v anglo-americkém a českém prostředí.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis focuses on the role of information specialists in health care, in the Czech and Anglo-American context. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts and analyzes the competencies that must have the information specialists working in health care. It also describes what variants of job positions for information specialists exist in the Anglo-American environment and how the information specialist can acquire the necessary competencies to perform their profession. Variants of positions and possibilities of acquiring competencies are also described in the Czech environment. In the practical part, a combination of quantitative (questionnaire) and qualitative (interviews) survey identifies the possibilities of employment of information specialists in the Czech Republic at present and what professional requirements are expected from them. Furthermore, the practical part compares the possibilities of achieving the necessary competencies in the Anglo-American and Czech environment.
