Nursing Process in a Patient with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je ošetřovatelský proces u pacienta s diabetem mellitem 1.typu. Tato bakalářská práce je rozčleněna na teoretickou a praktickou část. Je zaměřená výhradně na 1. typ diabetu. Teoretická část popisuje diabetes mellitus 1. typu, která charakterizuje patofyziologii, příznaky, diagnostiku a léčbu. Po léčbě jsem se následně věnovala novým technologiím, které se stále modernizují, a je to léčba inzulinovou pumpou a kontinuální monitorací glykémie pomocí senzoru a jejich kombinace. Následují komplikace diabetu mellitu 1. typu, které se dělí na časné a pozdní, pacienti bývají velmi ohrožení těmito komplikacemi, protože významně zhoršují kvalitu života. V další samostatné kapitole popisuji důkladně ošetřovatelský proces u pacienta s diabetem mellitem 1. typu. Praktická část je zpracována formou případové studie. Zvolila jsem koncepční model Marjory Gordon, kde na podkladě sběrů dat od pacienta byly stanoveny ošetřovatelské diagnózy dle NANDA Internatinonal Taxonomie II 2018 – 2020. Následně byly rozpracovány fáze ošetřovatelského procesu, jeho realizace a konečné zhodnocení s doporučení pro praxi, která vyplývá z řešené kazuistiky.

Abstract:

The topic of the bachelor thesis is the nursing process in a patient with type 1 diabetes mellitus. This bachelor thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts.It focuses exclusively on type 1 diabetes mellitus. The theoretical part describes type 1 diabetes mellitus, its the pathophysiology, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment. After the treatment, I focused on new technologies that are still being modernised, namely insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring using a sensor and a combination of the two. The complications of type 1 diabetes mellitus are divided into early and late complications, and patients are usually very vulnerable to these complications because of the significant impact they have on their quality of life. In the next separate chapter I describe in detail the nursing process of a patient with type 1 diabetes mellitus. The practical part is presented in the form of a case study. I have chosen the conceptual model of Marjory Gordon, where nursing diagnoses according to the NANDA International Taxonomy II 2018 - 2020 were established on the basis of data collection from the patient. Subsequently, the phases of the nursing process, its implementation and final evaluation were elaborated with recommendations for practice resulting from the case study.
