Hlučínsko a Vitorazsko patří k územím, jež byla k novodobému Česku připojena až po roce 1918, přičemž jedním z argumentů pro jejich připojení byl mýtus o poněmčených Češích toužících vrátit se ke svým slovanským kořenům. Hlučínsko and Vitorazsko belong to the territories that were annexed to the modern Czech Republic only after 1918, and one of the arguments for their annexation was the myth of germanized Czechs eager to return to their Slavic roots.
