The object of this thesis is the last novel of the writer Elsa Morante, Aracoeli. First we present the life and work of this writer and further we introduce in more detail her last novel Aracoeli. Předmětem této diplomové práce je poslední román spisovatelky Elsy Morante, Aracoeli. Nejdříve se seznámíme se životem a dílem této spisovatelky a posléze podrobněji představíme její poslední román Aracoeli. Zde se zaměříme především na vztah matky Aracoeli se synem Manuelem, který ovlivňuje téměř všechny aspekty Manuelova života.
