Tattoos as an Obstacle on the Labor Market

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na analýzu fenoménu tetování v kontextu jeho významu na pracovním trhu. První část práce se soustředí na vysvětlení pojmu tetování, historii a jeho význam v různých kulturách. Dále je zaměřena na možnou stigmatizaci z hlediska uplatnění se osob s tetováním na trhu práce. V praktické části bakalářské práce byla zrealizována analýza a interpretace dat, která byla získána prostřednictvím kvalitativního výzkumu. Bakalářská práce vychází především z rozhovorů s aktéry, u nichž se zjišťovalo, zda se s otázkou takovéto stigmatizace osobně setkali.

Abstract:

This Bachelor´s thesis is focused on the Tattoo Phenomenon in context with its importance in the labor market. The first part deals with the history of tattoing, its functions and meanings in cultures. It is also focused on possible stigmatization in terms of employing people with tattoos (in the labor market). In the practical part of the thesis, the analysis and interpretation of data that were obtained through qualitative research are done. The bachelor thesis is based mainly on interviews with the actors, who were asked whether they had personally encountered the issue of such stigmatization.
