Analysis of university library loans

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce popisuje současný stav v oblasti bibliominingu. Bibliomining slouží k hledání vztahů mezi údaji, které se dají využít ke zlepšení chodu knihovny. Cílem bakalářské práce je charakterizovat univerzitní knihovnu Pardubice a její knihovní fond. Dále pak zpracovat data o výpůjčkách a provést získání asociačních pravidel z těchto dat. Výsledky této práce naznačí, jaké obory knih, či konkrétní tituly se nejvíce půjčují podle oboru studia, a jaké tituly by měla knihovna přidat do své nabídky.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis describes the current situation in bibliomining. With bibliomining it's easy to find relationships between data that can be used to improve the running of the library. The aim of the thesis is to characterize Pardubice University Library and the library collection. Then process the data and make obtaining association rules based on these data. The results of this work tell us what subjects of books or specific titles to borrow most according to the field of studies and what titles the library should add to her fund.
