Autonomous cultural center Metelkova Mesto in the perspective of material culture

Abstract:

Tato práce je věnována studiu nových materiálních objektů na mapě měst a změně sociálních vztahů, spojené s ní. Teoretická část práce je zaměřena na analýzu nových teorií materiality, jejichž hlavní charakteristikou je vyhýbání se striktnímu rozdílu mezi objektem a subjektem. Praktická část je zaměřena na zkoumání squatu jakožto nového materiálního objektu, jehož vznik je spojen se změnou ekonomického řádu, vznikem nového státu, demilitarizací společnosti a globalizací.

Abstract:

This work is dedicated to the question of the new material objects on the urban map and to the change of the social relations, which are connected to it. The theoretical part is dedicated to the analysis of new theories of materiality. Main characteristic of them is abolishing the difference between subject and object. The focus of empirical part is the examination of the squat as a new material object. Appearance of it is connected to the changes in the social order, genesis of new state, demilitarization and globalization.
