User Experience Research and Its Practical Use in Nonprofit Organizations Application

Abstract:

Předložená práce se zabývá uživatelským výzkumem a jeho praktickým využitím. Hlavním cílem práce je poukázat na důležitost uživatelského výzkumu a uvést, jak může ovlivnit vývoj produktu či služby. V teoretické části práce je nejdříve představena oblast user experience. Následuje popis modelů desinového myšlení a zasazení uživatelského výzkumu do kontextu designového procesu. Dále je uživatelský výzkum popsán teoreticky a poté již práce pokračuje popsáním tří rozdílných případových studií, které se zabývají využitím uživatelského výzkumu v praxi. Na to navazuje vlastní praktická část – návrh a provedení uživatelského výzkumu v rámci dobrovolnického projektu Jehlomat a zhodnocení vlivu uživatelského výzkumu na daný projekt. Uživatelský výzkum byl proveden za účelem lepšího poznání cílové skupiny a získání poznatků pro vylepšení aplikace Jehlomat. V rámci vlastního uživatelského výzkumu byly použity tři metody – analýza dat z Google Analytics, sekundární výzkum a hloubkové rozhovory. Z výzkumu vznikl report, jehož jednotlivé části jsou představeny v diplomové práci. V závěru diplomové práce je zhodnocen vliv uživatelského výzkumu na projekt.

Abstract:

The master thesis deals with user experience research and its use in practise. The main goal of the master thesis is to point out the importance of user experience research and to state how it can affect the process of product or service development. Theoretical part of the thesis begins with an introduction of the area of user experience. The following part is a description of design thinking models and putting the user experience research to the context of the design process. Then the user experience research itself is theoretically described. The next part is devoted to the presentation of three different case studies of user experience use in practise. The master thesis continues by describing the practical part - plan and execution of user experience research on the volunteer project Jehlomat and evaluation of the impact of user experience research on the project. User experience research was conducted in order to better understand the target group and gain insights and ideas on how to improve the Jehlomat application. Three methods were used in the user experience research - Google Analytics data analysis, desk research and in-depth interviews. Then the final report was created based on insights from the research. The individual parts of the report are presented in the master thesis. At the end of the master thesis, the influence of user research on the project is evaluated.
