Teritorial changes of border line around village Strickerhäuser

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je popis územních změn v pohraniční oblasti na pomezí Krkonoš a Jizerských hor (Harrachov - Kořenov), kde procházela státní hranice podél toku řeky Jizery a Mumlavy. Ta se však v průběhu 18. až 20. století několikrát měnila a zasáhla do osudu malé osady na vrchu zvaném Kozí hřbet (osada nesla název Strickerhäuser). Pomocí historickogeografické analýzy a porovnání jednotlivých časových údobích se práce věnuje popisu změn v oblasti geografie, vytyčování státních hranic a změně lidnatosti sídla. Práce je časově vymezena od počátku 18. století do roku 2010, kdy dochází k obnovení železničního spojení přes hranice mezi Českou republikou a Polskem.

Abstract:

The goal of this thesis is to describe territorial changes in a boundary area in between Krkonoše mountains and Jizerské hory (Harrachov - Kořenov), where the border line was along the Jizera and Mumlava rivers. It has however changed several times over the 18th through 20th century and hit the fate of a small settlement on the Kozí hřbet hill (the settlement was called Strickerhäuser). By means of a historic-geographic analysis and comparison of the individual time periods this thesis describes the changes in geography, setting the borders and population changes. The thesis focuses on the time period from the early 18th century till the year 2010, when a railway connection was reestablished across the border between the Czech Republic and Poland.
