Influence of irrigation on yield and qualitative parameters of chosen garlic cultivars

Abstract:

Souhrn V této bakalářské práci bylo hlavním cílem zhodnotit vliv kapkové závlahy na výnos a kvalitu česneku. Konkrétně byly sledovány dva parametry, a to hmotnost a průměr cibulí. Volba parametru hmotnost byla zvolena pro celkové zhodnocení výnosu a průměr cibulí pro tržní hodnotu. Jednalo se o ozimé varianty česneků ze sortimentu šlechtitelské firmy SEMO a.s.. Pro pokus byly vybrány odrůdy Václav a Ivan. Obě odrůdy patří do sortotypu paličáku – modrých zimních česneků. Odrůda Ivan je poloraný širokolistý paličák s mohutnou natí a velkými plochými cibulemi o hmotnosti 80 – 120 gramů, který obsahuje 6 – 7 velkých stroužků. Odrůda Václav je pozdní paličák se středně velkou cibulí o hmotnosti 70 – 90 g, který obsahuje 8 - 10 středních stroužků a vyniká výbornou skladovatelností. Pokus byl založen na podzim v roce 2018 na stanovišti na Vysočině v nadmořské výšce 494 m.n.m. Půdní typ stanoviště byla kambizem písčitohlinitá. Česnek byl vysázen na vyvýšený hrůbek do meziřádkové vzdálenosti 40 cm do třech řad s průměrnou hustotou 17 rostlin na m2. Mezi dvěma krajními řadami byla umístěna kapkovací hadice se zdrojem vody z rybníka. Průběh počasí na jaře v roce 2019, v období duben až červen byl spíše suššího charakteru s nerovnoměrnou a nízkou úrovní distribucí srážek. Množství srážek bylo na úrovni 50 % dlouhodobého normálu. Kapkovou závlahou bylo každý měsíc dodáno množství vody na úroveň 70 mm srážek. Výsledkem pokusu ve sledovaném ročníku bylo navýšení výnosu u odrůdy Ivan o 29,37 % a u odrůdy Václav 52,40 %. U obou odrůd byla lepší vyrovnanost cibulí a větší podíl u průměru nad 45 mm a 50 mm.  Klíčová slova: česnek, závlaha, výnos, kvalita

Abstract:

Influence of irrigation on yield and qualitative parameters of chosen garlic cultivars Summary Evaluation of the effect of irrigation on yield and quality of selected garlic varieties. The main aim of this bachelor thesis was to evaluate the effect of drip irrigation on the yield and quality of garlic. Specifically, two parameters were monitored, namely bulb weight and bulb diameter. The weight parameter was chosen to allow the overall yield assessment while the bulb diameter determines the market value. Winter varieties of garlic from the range of SEMO plc. breeding company were chosen for the experiment, namely two of them, Václav and Ivan. The Ivan variety is a semi-ploughed broad-leaved clove with a robust stem and large flat bulbs weighing 80-120 grams, containing 6-7 large cloves. Václav is a late variety with medium-sized bulbs weighing 70-90 grams, containing 8-10 medium-sized cloves, with excellent shelf life. The experiment started in autumn 2018 at a site in the Vysočina Highlands at an altitude of 494 m a.s.l. The soil type of the site was sandy loam. Garlic was planted in a raised bed at an inter-row distance of 40 cm in three rows with the average density of 17 plants per m2. A drip hose was placed between the two outermost rows, drawing from a pond water source. In the spring of 2019, April to June, the weather pattern was fairly dry with uneven and low-level rainfall distribution. Rainfall amounts were at 50 % of the long-term normal. Drip irrigation delivered water to a level of 70 mm of rainfall each month. As a result of the experiment in the year under study, the yield of the variety Ivan and Václav increased by 29.37 % and 52.40 %, respectively. Both varieties showed better bulb uniformity and a higher proportion of bulbs above 45 mm and 50 mm in diameter. Keywords: garlic, irrigation, yield, quality
