Melanom vzniká neoplastickou transformací kožních buněk produkujících pigment, tzv. melanocytů. Tento typ zhoubného nádoru je i přes svůj vzácný výskyt, v porovnání s jinými kožními malignitami, zodpovědný za většinu úmrtí na rakovinu kůže. Abstract:
Melanoma is the result of the neoplastic transformation of pigment-producing skin cells known as melanocytes. This malignant tumor, despite being relatively rare in comparison to other dermatological malignancies, is responsible for the majority of deaths caused by dermatologic cancers.
