Psychosomatics in geriatric nursing care

Abstract:

Předkládaná práce je zaměřena na psychosomatickou problematiku a psychosomatický přístup k potřebám seniorů ve zdraví a především v nemoci z pohledu ošetřovatelské péče. Stáří sebou nese mnoho výrazných a specifických změn, se kterými se senioři musejí vyrovnávat. A tyto změny, nové situace mohou být často příčinami mnohých psychosomatických obtíží. Mnohdy se tyto příčiny podceňují a „léčí se“ a ošetřuje pouze tělesný příznak. V této práci je poukázáno na nutnost komplexního přístupu k nemocnému člověku. Empirická část je zaměřena na zjištění znalostí a názorů všeobecných sester, které pracují se seniory, zda mají povědomí o psychosomatické problematice, o psychosociálních potřebách seniorů, o tom, zda se ve své praxi zaměřují na člověka komplexně, se všemi jeho potřebami. Také zda jsou schopny poskytnout případně zajistit psychickou podporu, individuální přístup, vstřícnost, opravdový zájem o pacientovo prožívání i získat dostatek informací o pacientovi. Zaměřuji se na všeobecné sestry, které pečují o seniory v LDN, v domácí péči, na interním a geriatrickém oddělení.

Abstract:

This thesis is aimed on the psychosomatic problems and psychosomatic access to the needs of seniors in their health and especially in their illness from the point of view of the nursing care. The old age brings many distinct and specific changes that the seniors have to cope with. These changes and new situations can be often the causes of many psychosomatic problems. These causes are often underestimated and only the somatic symptoms are cured. This thesis points at the necessity of the complex access to the ill person. The empiric part is aimed on getting the knowledge and opinions of the general nurses who work with seniors, if they know anything about psychosomatics and psychosocial needs of the seniors, and if they in their praxis work with the people from the complex point of view, with all their needs. It is also investigating if they are able to give or get the psychological support, individual access, if they are helpful and have real interest in pacient’s experiences and if they are willing to get enough information about the pacient. The general nurses who work with the seniors in the hospices, homes, intern and geriatric departments were interrogated for this thesis.
