Stress among nursing students

Abstract:

Cíl: Zjistit výskyt stresu u studentů ošetřovatelství a dopad stresu na jejich bio-psycho-sociální stav. Metodika: Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 445 studentů druhých a třetích ročníků ošetřovatelství Moravskoslezského a Jihomoravského kraje. Výzkum probíhal formou dotazníkového šetření od 1. 10. 2018 do 15. 1. 2019. Pro sběr dat byly použity standardizované dotazníky Bio-psycho-sociální stav (PPSRS) a Perceived Stress Scale - 10 items (PSS 10), které byly doplněné o demografické údaje. Výsledky: Na základě výzkumného šetření vyplývá, že studenti ošetřovatelství v Moravskoslezském a Jihomoravském kraji hodnotí vnímaný stres průměrně. Nejvyšší úroveň stresu vnímali studenti vyšších studijních ročníků (třetích studijních ročníků). Podařilo se prokázat, že stres má dopad na bio-psycho-sociální stav studentů, nejvyšší dopad byl zaznamenán v oblasti emocionálního stavu (psychického stavu). V oblasti vztahu mezi stresem a bio-psycho-sociálním stavem byla potvrzena slabá korelace. Závěr: Výsledky hodnocení stresu studentů ošetřovatelství a dopad na jejich bio-psycho-sociální stav poskytují zpětnou vazbu. Vzhledem k našim výsledkům bychom doporučovali, zaměřit se na psychický stav studentů. Bližší prozkoumání stresu studentů ošetřovatelství by mohlo pomoci nalézt klíčové faktory, které tyto faktory způsobují a tak jím účinně předcházet, či najít nejlepší řešení.

Abstract:

Aim: The aim of the thesis was to find out the presence of stress among nursing students and the impact of stress on their bio-psycho-social status. Methodology: The research group consisted of 445 nursing students of second and third study year in the Moravian-Silesian and South Moravian regions. The research was carried out in the form of a questionnaire collected between 1 October 2018 and 15 January 2019. Standardized questionnaires such as Bio-psycho-social status (PPSRS) and Perceived Stress Scale - 10 items (PSS 10) were used for data the collection of demographic data. Results: Based on the conducted research, the perceived stress was evaluated by the nursing students in the Moravian-Silesian and South Moravian as average. The highest levels of stress were perceived by students in an advanced year of their studies (third study year). It had been proven that stress has an impact on the bio-psycho-social status of students, with the highest impact on an emotional state (mental state). A weak correlation had been confirmed in the relationship between stress and bio-psycho-social status. Conclusion: Results of stress assessment of nursing students and the impact on their bio-psycho-social status do provide us a feedback. Given our results, we would recommend focusing on the psychological state of students. A closer look at the stress of nursing students could help to identify the key factors that cause these factors to effectively prevent or find the best solution.
