Cílem této diplomové práce je zjistit, do jaké míry pomáhá novinové zpravodajství chránit národní identitu (identitu příslušné skupiny) jak ji popisuje Henri Tajfel v Teorii sociální identity. Abstract:
The aim of this thesis is to explore whether newspaper coverage adheres to protection of national (in-group) identity proposed by Henri Tajfel’s Social Identity Theory. For this purpose headlines of two national newspapers (one from the US and one from the UK) with large coverage of the international event which members of both nations were parts of were selected and analysed.
