The usage of X-Ray in medicine

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá vytížeností a využitelností vyšetřovacích modalit využívající rentgenové záření. Teoretická část práce je zaměřena na ionizující záření, rentgenové záření, a především na modality, jež využívají rentgenové záření a jsou používány v medicíně. Cílem praktické části bakalářské práce je zjištění vytíženosti a využitelnosti vybraných vyšetřovacích modalit používaných v medicíně, jež využívají rentgenové záření. Jedná se konkrétně o skiagrafii, skiaskopii, výpočetní tomografii, angiografii a také magnetickou rezonanci, jež v daných modalitách tvoří výjimku, jelikož nevyužívá rentgenové záření. Jako metoda výzkumu byla zvolena retrospektivní analýza dat, jež byla získána díky Radiodiagnostickému oddělení Fakultní nemocnice Ostrava. Z výsledků vyplynulo, že jsou zkoumané modality využívány stále více, výjimku tvořila pouze skiaskopie. Využitelnost modalit se ukázala velice široká, jelikož jsou využívány takřka na všech odděleních v nemocnici.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with utilization and usability of screening modalities which use the roentgen rays. The theoretical part of this thesis is focused on ionizing radiation, roentgen rays and most importantly modalities which use roentgen rays and are used in medicine. The aim of the practical part of this bachelor's thesis is to determine the utilization and usability of selected screening modalities commonly used in medicine which use the roentgen rays. Namely, it focuses on skiagraphy, skiascopy, computed tomography, angiography and magnetic resonance, which is an exception in these modalities because it does not use the roentgen rays. The selected method of research is a retrospective data analysis provided by the radiodiagnostic department of the University hospital Ostrava. The results of the research show that the examined modalities are used more often and the only exception is the use of sciascopy. It was found out that the utilization of these modalities is broad because they are used nearly at all hospital departments.
